Adam Buckner (aged 31, May 26, 1992 – March 31, 2024) was a dedicated Tucson police officer. He lost his life in the line of duty when his patrol car was struck by another vehicle while he responded to an emergency call with sirens and lights active, near the University of Arizona campus.
Officer Buckner had the right of way at an intersection when the collision occurred. Despite his green light, a turning sedan failed to yield, resulting in the fatal accident. Tucson Police Chief Chad Kasmar shared these details at a news conference, noting that the impact sent Officer Buckner’s vehicle into a traffic signal pole.
Before the collision, Officer Adam was responding to a report of vandalism at a business. Despite efforts from community members and fellow officers who provided first aid and CPR, Officer Buckner succumbed to his injuries after being rushed to the hospital. The driver of the sedan, whose identity remained undisclosed, sustained minor injuries and showed no signs of impairment.

During a domestic violence case, he spotted a suspect matching the description and, with the help of fellow officers, successfully arrested him. In another case, his attention to detail helped solve a teenage girl’s homicide, leading to the suspect’s apprehension.
Adam was respected for his dedication and leadership among his peers. Despite his passing, his legacy of hard work and integrity continues to inspire law enforcement.

He attended Goddard High School before pursuing Environmental Science at Eastern New Mexico University in Roswell. After completing his education, Buckner began his career as a Consultant at Triad Lubrication from January 2012 to May 2013.
In August 2013, He joined Guitar Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he contributed significantly to the company’s operations. His expertise and dedication led to a successful tenure until he transitioned to a new role.
