On March 16, 2024, Alyssia Langley and her fiancé, Timothy Stephens, were spending time at Daytona Beach, Florida. They were on vacation and had brought their two children along.

According to reports, Alyssia and Timothy had consumed multiple cans of beer, and an empty whisky bottle was found nearby. When officers from the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office arrived, they found the couple passed out.

It took the officers eight attempts to wake them up by yelling. When they finally woke up, Alyssia and Timothy seemed disoriented and unaware of their surroundings. When asked about their children, they both admitted to not knowing where the kids were.

Timothy Stephens Tried to Flee

After authorities discovered that Alyssia Langley and Timothy Stephens were unaware of their children’s location, law enforcement officers conducted a search for the 5-year-old and 7-year-old kids. Deputies from the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office quickly located the children at a nearby hotel called Nautilus Inn, where they were found swimming in the pool.

Meanwhile, Langley and Stephens were taken into custody and handcuffed. As officers were escorting the couple to a police vehicle, Stephens attempted to flee the scene. He was pursued by the officers but tripped and fell, sustaining bruises on his face.

The couple faced multiple charges, including child neglect (a third-degree felony) and bringing alcoholic beverages into a public area.
