Damian Haglund (age 14, 2009 – May 1, 2024) was an eighth grader student at Mount Horeb Middle School in Wisconsin. He was identified as the person who brought a rifle near the school and was involved in a confrontation with the police.

During lunchtime, Haglund tried to break into the cafeteria using his gun but couldn’t get in. Instead, he started shooting at a window. Witnesses heard about 12 shots.

Reports from law enforcement sources indicate that Haglund, armed with a rifle, had stolen his grandfather’s car before the incident. He then drove to his school, where he discharged his weapon toward a group of students, fortunately missing them all.

The armed student was intercepted and killed by Mount Horeb police outside the school premises, as confirmed by Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul during a press briefing in Mount Horeb later that day.

Afterward, the police officers involved were put on leave, which is a standard procedure after such events. Authorities didn’t say whether Haglund shot at the police or if he had threatened to bring a gun to school before.

Damian Haglund posted cryptic messages on his Snapchat before the shooting

Before the tragic events at Mount Horeb Middle School, Damian Haglund allegedly shared cryptic messages on his Snapchat account, according to sources close to the investigation.

Witnesses have claimed that the individual identified as the perpetrator of the shooting incident posted two photos on his Snapchat story earlier on the day of the incident.

The first image contained a message in Finnish that translates to “Rise from the chains of slavery, cheers to the blood,” while the second message, in Bosnian, stated, “My dad is a war criminal,” which is recognized as the title of a Serbian war song.

Haglund was using the name “Fritzsche Letvan” Twitter Account

It has been confirmed that Damian Haglund operated a Twitter account under the name “Fritzsche Letvan.” This revelation came to light when investigations linked the account to Haglund. The account was associated with the Letvan X page.

The Letvan X page, reportedly created in June 2023, boasted a modest following, with 54 followers and following 53 accounts. Notably, a chilling reply from the page on April 27 stated, “Please help me Columbine.”

Within the content of the “Fritzsche Letvan” X page, a direct declaration was made, stating, “I’m Haglund.” Moreover, the Letvan page contained posts that referenced Damian Haglund’s now-deleted TikTok account, identified as @Iknowyouseemenow, confirmed by law enforcement sources as belonging to the Mount Horeb suspect.

Among the concerning posts, one from April 18 advocated for the resurrection of the Columbine tragedy, while another on April 20, the date of the Columbine massacre, disturbingly read, “Happy 420.”

A post from April 27 further added to the alarming content, stating, “Man I don’t even have 5 days to live.”

On the morning of May 1, a post on the “Fritzsche Letvan” X page at 8:37 a.m. read, “My last morning,” followed by other ominous statements such as “I’m killing my plans” and “Ah the true Aryan.”
