Liron Petrushka: Tech Entrepreneur & Wife Killed in California Plane Crash

Liron Petrushka (March 7, 1966 – March 30, 2024) was a 57-year-old Israeli-American investor and entrepreneur who recently passed away in an airplane crash near Tahoe Truckee Airport in Northern California. According to sources, the single-engine high-performance plane was caught in a snowstorm before the crash.

Liron’s wife, Naomi Petrushka, was also on board during the crash.  After losing their lives in the heartbreaking incident, the Israeli couple left behind three kids.

Reports indicate that during the crash, the visibility was severely limited to just 0.8 kilometers due to the snowstorm. Investigators are actively working to understand the circumstances that led to the plane’s tragic descent.

How did Plane Crash Happen?

On March 30, 2024, Liron Petrushka and Naomi Petrushka departed for California from Centennial Airport in Denver in their single-engine TBM aircraft (N960LP) at around 4:20 p.m. At around 6:43 p.m., their plane crashed while approaching the Tahoe Truckee Airport in Northern California.

The crash occurred when they were landing the aircraft. The plane crashed away from residential areas, although residents far from that place reported hearing a loud thud.

At present, a snowstorm is being considered the prime cause for the crash as it reduced visibility, although the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are currently investigating to find the actual cause.

Liron Petrushka was married to Naomi Petrushka. The couple was blessed with three kids after their marriage.  According to Naomi’s LinkedIn profile, She had an impressive education from universities like Washington University, The Wharton School, and Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

During her career, She held important positions, such as being General Manager at Petrushka Investments, LLC, and teaching at the University of Nevada.

In 1966, Liron Petrushka (age 57) was born in Israel. According to sources, Liron grew up in Tel Aviv. Not much is known about his early life other than the fact that during his high school and college days, Petrushka was an amazing athlete. He even played for the famous football team – Hapoel Ramat Gan.

His CV reflects that he was an amazing entrepreneur and successful investor although it does not include any information about his qualifications and college degrees.

As per his CV, Liron began his career at 21 when he started PCM Inc. in 1994. He ran PCM for 7 years before founding US GRoup, a software enterprise that built software for HRMS (Human Resources Management System).

In 1999 he started Commercebid.com which was a huge hit. As per an Israeli newspaper, Liron sold Commercebid.com for $200 million.

After the sale, CommerceBid became CommerceOne and Liron continued to serve as a CEO for a couple of years. In January 2001 he started Petrushka Investments and there he served as a director until his death.
