In October 2023, Reagan Gray started working as a choral teacher at Sylvan Hills Middle School in the Pulaski County Special School District (PCSSD). However, it’s unclear how she explained leaving her previous job at Little Rock Christian Academy (LRCA), as PCSSD hasn’t responded to requests for her records.
Even though Pastor Smith knew about Gray’s inappropriate actions, he didn’t report them to the Department of Human Services. If he had, it might have caused problems when Sylvan Hills Middle School checked her background. And the police might have been alerted to investigate possible crimes.
Gray facing a single felony charge
In February 2024, Pastor Ashley Smith told the FBI that Reagan Gray admitted in counseling sessions that she had a s*xual relationship with the alleged victim, according to the affidavit. They continued messaging each other using Snapchat instead of regular texts.
The affidavit also states that Smith told investigators Reagan and the alleged victim had more physical contact since their relationship was discovered in 2020, which Gray revealed to Smith.
On a subsequent Wednesday, Reagan Gray surrendered herself to the authorities and is currently facing one felony charge of s*xual assault. She has been released on a $20,000 bond pending further legal proceedings.
