Amy Scott (age 39, born in 1984) is a senior inspector at the Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command with over ten years of experience. She received the Demonstrated Courage and Devotion to Duty award from the Rotary Club of Kings Cross in 2019.

On April 13, 2024, NSW Police Inspector Scott was hailed as a hero for her actions at Westfield Bondi Junction. During a tragic stabbing incident that claimed six lives, including a 9-month-old.

Inspector Scott arrived swiftly at the scene and confronted the armed assailant, Joel Cauchi. Despite the danger, she acted decisively and shot Cauchi when he tried to attack her.

After stopping the attacker, Amy began giving CPD to the attacker and helped the injured people until backup arrived. She showed how dedicated and brave she was, thinking about others even in a scary situation.

The NSW Police Commissioner Karen Webb praised Amy’s bravery and said she is doing well considering what happened. Inspector Scott will also help with the investigation into the stabbings.
