As a result of these allegations, Hughes has left his position as Assistant Principal and is prohibited from entering the school premises. This incident follows another case within the Clark County School District, where employee Joshua Herrera was also arrested on similar charges.

Soon CSD Police began an investigation against him and due to the investigation, he was suspended from his position. After a thorough investigation, on March 20, 2024, warrants were issued for Howard’s arrest.
After receiving the warrant and probable cause for arrest, cops visited his house. Upon reaching his house cops learned that he fled and could try to cross the border. His attempt to flee from the country failed.
He was apprehended in Texas by the U.S. Marshals Service on March 22, 2024. As per the court order Howard can no longer go anywhere near the campus.
