Jason Maser (2001– March 2024) was a volleyball coach from Long Island and was accused of sexually assaulting one of his teenage players. The allegations came to light, and shortly afterward, Jason took his own life by stepping in front of a Long Island Rail Road train.
Maser was said to have coached a 15-year-old girl at Sacred Heart Academy and B & B Volleyball Club. He was arrested after being accused of raping the teenager on two separate occasions, on Feb. 7 and March 7, while they were parked in his Jeep. Following these allegations, B&B Volleyball Club terminated his employment on Feb. 9, according to the club’s lawyer, Oscar Michelen.

The incident shocked the community, and it was reported that Maser had allegedly assaulted the teenage girl on multiple occasions.
Maser was found dead at Long Island Rail Road
Tragically, Jason Maser was found dead after intentionally stepping in front of a Long Island Rail Road train near the Syosset station at around 10:30 p.m. MTA officials pronounced him dead at the scene.
The incident occurred around 10:35 p.m. near the Woodbury Road crossing just east of the station. Investigators discovered a suicide note at the scene.
Maser’s attorney declined to comment, expressing condolences on behalf of Jason’s devastated family and their concern for the young woman involved.

Jason played for Syosset High School
Jason Maser was born in 2002 in Syosset Hamlet, Long Island, New York. He attended Syosset High School from 2016 to 2023. During his time there, Maser coached the high school boys’ volleyball team in 2022, as confirmed by Manhasset Schools. Despite this connection, his involvement with the district remained limited.
In addition to his high school activities, Maser was also involved with the B&B Club Volleyball team. Despite his young age, he was entrusted with the coaching role for the team. His familiarity with the team captains from Manhasset High School likely played a role in his selection for this position.
