Jonathan Diller (September 15, 1992 – March 25, 2024) was a 31-year-old NYPD cop, was shot dead during a traffic stop in Queens. Diller, who had been working in the NYPD for the last three years, was shot in the abdomen by Guy Rivera, who was being removed from the car by the NYPD.
As soon as he was injured, he fell to the ground screaming that he had been shot. Despite the gunshot wound, Diller managed to take the gun away from the suspect, who was shot by another cop at the scene. Jonathan was taken to the nearest hospital, Jamaica Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by the doctors.
At present, the police have not released any statement describing the health condition of the shooter. The heroic cop who died in the line of duty had recently been married. He left behind his wife and 1-year-old son.

The NYPD released the sad news through social media platforms. Later, an official statement was released; Mayor Eric Adams also held a press conference expressing his grief and offering condolences to the grieving family.
